| Review: | I wish I had researched more about this company. I cannot begin to describe the stress this moving company caused me. First of all, they were late arriving to the pickup. Secondly, we paid by the hour, and they took over 3 hours to drive my belongings from Brooklyn Heights to the Upper West Side (81st St - an hour trip at the most). Each time I called to ask where they were, they gave me an address that was not a coherent step from the address were they had been located the half hour before. (My instinct is that we paid by the hour for the movers to have a leisurely lunch along the way). Finally, despite my repeated requests that they wrap my bulky pieces of furniture, certain pieces were moved without any padding or protection. Multiple items were damaged, but the most significant was a brand new $3000 dresser which they dragged across a banister causing a large gash approximately 5 feet across the top of the dresser. In addition, they chipped the legs and some of the drawers. When I called to complain, I was told that I could only recover the paltry amount per pound that was listed in the contract. I was not aware that my fiance had signed a contract, and told Mark that I had not signed one. His reply was "No contract? Then we didn't move you!", followed by him hanging up on me. I wish that I had the time and energy to take them to small claims court, but this occurred right before my wedding and a job change. I cannot begin to describe how poor their service was and how vehemently I feel writing about the experience almost a year later. |
